Making a Short Film
I've been working on a screenplay, and now that it's finished, the unavoidable next step is to film it.
Filming is going to be a lot harder than writing, but just as much fun.
Warning: this is very much a hobby project. Nobody is being paid, including me, and there is no expectation of financial reward. The aim is simply to make something entertaining, eat pizza and with any luck enjoy the whole experience.
We might even learn of few things, but I wouldn't count on it.
If the idea appeals to you then please get in touch. Help is needed both in front of and behind the camera. Acting, camera work, sound, lighting, props, costumes, makeup and general problem solving are all useful skills. No previous experience is required, although it won't hurt.
A brief note for aspiring movie stars: I can't guarantee anyone an on-screen appearance. Film-making has a habit of changing plans, and volunteers who imagined themselves delivering dramatic monologues may instead find themselves holding a boom microphone. Also if you have a boom microphone, that would be great. Equally, those expecting a quiet life behind the scenes may unexpectedly end up in front of the camera. Don't worry, we have a camera.
